We received an ARC for honest review. This is the first book of Monica's I have read and she certainly didn't disappoint. A fabulous kick off to the brand new The Rule Series.
From the beginning, you are hit with Jade's point of view where she is up for trade over a illegal poker match between her boyfriend and Shep Prescott. Even though Shep is the typical spoiled college brat that is well loved amongst his peers, I loved his inner adorableness with Jade to push her limits and their hilarious banter back and forth. This brought alot to the book which it made me not want to put the book down.
With dual POV, their story was additive from the beginning. With their undeniable chemistry mixed in with hilarious banter back and forth, I loved Monica's wit throughout her writing. I'm definitely looking forward to In the Dark - Book Two of the series. Overall a fantastic start to this brand new series from Monica.
