REVIEW: Shuttergirl by CD Reiss

I am not hurt.

I don’t need a second chance with him, or a life I thought I had.

While he was out forgetting me to become a movie star, I was building a career out of nothing. A career as a paparazzi, but a career. For a foster kid who bounced around every home in Los Angeles, that wasn’t easy.

This camera is all I have.

He’s nothing to me. Every time I take his picture and sell it, I remind myself that I did it all without him or his approval, his cinnamon smell or his clear green eyes. He lights up the screen like a celestial body, but he’s nothing but a paycheck to me.

He can throw my camera off a balcony, and nothing has to change. We can stay king and queen of the same city, and different worlds.

Except this is Hollywood, and here, anything can happen.

This was my first experience of reading one of CD Reiss's novels, starting with her first Contemporary Standalone Romance.  I thoroughly enjoyed this book, CD certainly didn't disappoint with bringing alot to the table with Michael & Laine's story.

When two people from a world that are suppose to be against each other, Hello.....celebrity meet paparazzi. Following celebrities around day in and day out was Laine's job however her favourite client most of all was Michael, her former crush from high school she just loved now turned celebrity.

Welcome Michael, celebrity living a life he never wanted however with parentals pressures, he had proceeded on the path of their choosing.

When paths continue to cross each other, Michael finally comes to the realisation he has known all along that Girl behind the camera was from school he liked. With feelings arise from each other, they regroup to hash out their time from the past but also secrets are revealed in which has prevented them to be far apart for so long. Alot of emotion has been brought to this story as not everyone is always what they seem in the limelight of celebrity world.
With both inner struggles and running from pressure and evil ex's, their stories bring twisted tales to which Laine finds herself now being behind the other side of the lens and being the target. She finds that the paparazzi will do anything for a quick buck even if she worked alongside them all.

Overall, their story brings true tales of their true selves mixed within the world they never thought would happen! He brings out the good in her whilst she brings the good out in him, to be who he wants to be and not what others expect of him.
Fabulous romance that took a little time at the beginning to get into however in the end the story does it justice to which you fall in love with these two characters.
